I am a private venture capitalist on the lookout for proposed or early development enterprises in Australia. Ideally, this business will have a well prepared plan, at least some of the required individuals to fulfill it, and the capacity to act in the near future. Partial or full funding can be provided up to 4 million initially, with further input in the future, depending on performance. Interested to hear from anyone who fits this description, including young or first time entrepreneurs. Located in Sydney but can attend meetings elsewhere if required. Please no MLM schemes or related crap, just solid business models (creative or left-field is OK if you believe it will work).
I am seeking an interested investor to provide capital to either refurbish or relocate to new, larger premises. It is the only licensed swingers club in the city. The club caters to couples, single ladies and single gents. The venue is also available for private functions.
The venue has a byo license, spa, sauna, fully equipped bar, sports lounge with pool table, five play rooms including a B&D room and group room, intimate entertainers lounge with stage and pole, dance floor and ample secure parking.
Oct 2007, Pasty Company sells for £40mil. We aim to replicate this successful business model in Australia.
The Cornish pasty has been a staple diet of the Cornish for hundreds of years. No one is 100% certain of the origin of the Cornish Pasty but it is widely understood that it was the main diet of the Tin Miners who held on to the crimped edge whilst eating to avoid getting poisoned by the arsenic on their hands. In recent times the Cornish pasty has gone from strength to strength with one time Cornish flavour becoming a national delight. A number of companies in Cornwall have now set up outlets around the UK with huge success. One such company going from village shop to £12 million turnover. Traditional Cornish Pasties can now be purchased in most towns in the UK.
We aim to bring this concept to Australia and set up the first nationwide Cornish Pasty company setting up outlets around Australia selling the Traditional Cornish Pasty based on a traditional recipe.
This is a proven concept in the UK and, with the popularity of the 'PIE' in Australia, we believe that the Cornish Pasty will be a huge success as a lunch time meal, offering more value and a larger product than the humble pie.
In the Australian market we feel the closest comparison is Jesters Pies. As the Pasty is made in a factory by hand and then frozen it can easily be transported to retail outlets anywhere in Australia and then cooked on the premises as a fresh meal. As well as the branded retail outlets we also wish to develop a significant B2B market such as other bakeries, cafes, entertainment venues such as stadiums and mobile vans that can go to shows such as the Easter Show for example.
As well as the traditional Cornish Pasty we will develop a series of other fillings such as, Cheese Pasty, Cheese and Onion Pasty, Vegetable Pasty, Spicy Vegetable Pasty, Spinach & Ricotta Pasty, Beef & Stilton Pasty, Beef Madras Pasty, Steak & Onion Pasty, Steak and Ale Pasty and Lamb and Mint Pasty for example.
The model will be based on the successful UK model. The proof of the profitability of the business opportunity is that in October 2007 Gresham Private Equity (UK) bought the West Cornwall Pasty Company for £40m ($80m). The West Cornwall Pastry Company had 35 outlets at the time.
The investment opportunity would deliver at least a 25% return year on year with a 5 year buyout plan. The investment would be split into 2 parts, with a smaller initial investment requirement of $370,000 to get the company running and set up 3 shops to achieve a healthy profit with a 2nd round of funding in year 2 to enable significant growth.
Australian Skill Trades (AST) based in Orange NSW was set up as a small family operation to specialise in the delivery of skilled personnel to meet the shortage in the skill trades industry throughout the region.
Clients in the metal trades, mining, housing, agriculture and civil construction industries are experiencing difficulties in accessing Skilled Labour.
The shortage is Australia wide throughout all industries in particular: Fitting & Machining, Diesel Fitting, Maintenance Fitters, Carpenters, Welding, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Geologists, Nursing with the Agriculture labour force near nonexistent and some special industry trades.
The skilled labour shortage has affected many companies across Australia including the farming sector which losers some $300 million a year through the lack of skilled labour. We believe, given that we have 30 years experience dealing with these industries, our business, with a financial injection of funds can evolve into a national multimillion dollar company with high returns on investment.
Our research of the labour market shows an enormous gap in the skilled trades industry and labour market. We are looking for capital investment of $200,000 and possibly professional involvement, but not necessary, to take full advantage of the labour shortage situation giving the business the boost it requires.
There are many recruitment and labour hire agencies out there. But none specialise in the skilled labour market and give personal service to employers and jobseekers? If these agencies were doing their job there would not be such a big shortage in the skilled labour force as is the case today.
We are now looking for a prospective investor for development funds to get the business up and running to its full potential for website data base, travelling, advertising, marketing and the setting up of various sections in the overall plan.
The scope of the business is enormous, which could eventuate into a national company by capitalising on the many avenues of development as compliment branches of the overall business activities plan.
A financial business plan along with a power point presentation has been adopted for the interested investor and available on request.
Our company has several managed projects that have been subjected to due diligence and are at various stages of development.

I've recently inherited a modest estate from my father and although I plan to spread this capital over a few different activities I'd also like to invest in 2-3 small businesses which require a silent partner. I'm willing to do this as I am willing to tolerate a level of risk in the hope of gaining a better return on this part of the portfolio. To give a rough idea, I can invest about $300,000 total but I'd like to disperse this between more than one small business to spread the risk. Feel free to contact me in regards to your planned start up businesses or those you're looking to acquire.
Our firm has a small number of partners and through our success we'd like to share an opportunity with a promising new business. We're based in Sydney, NSW but are happy to invest elsewhere. Myself and the other partners have backgrounds in law and accounting so we are able to assist in establishment, governance and any contract preparation required.
At this point we'd like to invest about $1,500,000 and if required we can extend to $1.8M if necessary. Please contact us when you're well prepared.
